Hosted by the Wits Students' Surgical Society, The Great Debate 2024 is set to take place on Thursday, 5th September, at the Len Miller Lecture Theatre, Wits Parktown Health Sciences Campus. Doors open at 17:00, and the excitement is guaranteed to follow!

This annual event showcases the talents and insights of representatives from various surgical specialties as they compete for the coveted title of “Specialty Supreme.” With each specialty vying for supremacy through witty banter, intriguing cases, and expert insights, the evening promises a mix of serious discourse and light-hearted fun.

• Three Rounds of Enthralling Debates: Each round is designed to showcase different facets of each specialty, from personal journeys and notable achievements to the latest advancements and future possibilities.
• Engaging Intermission: Attendees can interact with speakers and enjoy refreshments while networking with peers and professionals in a relaxed setting.
• Audience Participation: Your vote will decide which specialty reigns supreme. Join in, ask questions, and make your voice heard!
• Hosted by Dr. Simon Fraser: The charismatic host of the Dr. Coffee Podcast will ensure the evening flows smoothly and keeps the audience engaged.
